My Parents 40th Wedding Anniversary Trip to Vail, Colorado

This summer, my parents took the whole gang to Vail, CO for their 40th wedding anniversary! It was such an amazing trip filled with activities, great dinners and lots of laughter! This was Olivia's first plane ride and trip, and she did perfectly! For those of you who don't know who Olivia is, she is my precious neice who is almost one year old! There are plenty of pictures of her below! Here is just run-down of the week!

Tuesday:
Fly to Denver and drive to Vail where we shopped at the grocery store for food for the week, and then got a quick dinner before heading to bed!
Olivia's first plane ride!
Wednesday:
Mom, Dad, David, Jason and I all headed up the mountain to do a little fly fishing. Catie stayed back with Olivia at the hotel! When we got back, we headed to the pool and hot tub!
Thursday:
Went paragliding (yes, we jumped off a mountain at a full sprint) It took some self-talk to get those feet running, but it was all well worth it to fly around over the beautiful city of Beaver Creek! Then we went shopping in Beaver Creek. Once we got back to the hotel, we changed into nice clothes, took the Gondala (sp?) up the mountain in Vail, and had the most wonderful meal for my parents 40th anniversary gift from Catie and I! It was a place called Game Creek, and the view was spectacular!

Can you tell that I am having fun?Yes, those are my feet over the interstate!
Super fun, but glad to be safely on the ground again!
Shopping in Breakenridge

Friday:
Catie, Jason, Dad, David and I all went White Water Rafting down the Colorado River! Mom stayed back with Olivia at the hotel and shopped around town. When we got back we just all crashed and ate a nice meal in our condo! It felt good to give our bodies a little break!
Walking Around Vail after dinner
Saturday:
David and Dad went Paragliding again, because when we had gone before, the wind changed directions before my Dad took his turn, but we wanted him to do it because it was amazing! So David went with him! Then we went to a little town right outside of Vail to walk the market, shop, went to a winery and then David, Jason and I headed back to Vail and rented mountain bikes and rode the Gondala up the mountain and biked down! This was probably the scariest thing I did all week! We ended up taking a blue run about half way down the mountain, and as you will see in the pictures, it was scary! David went over his handle bars twice, and I ran into a tree! Trust me, it was much tougher than it looks! After that, we went back to the Condo and head breakfast for dinner, my favorite!
Seriously, the trails were the width of your tire! Crazy!
Sunday:
Sad Day! We headed home after walking the Vail Market. We had such fun filled adventure week, and it was good to get back, but we had a fabulous time and will remember this trip forever! Maybe net year we can go to the beach!

Where In The World Have I Been...

Ok, so I know it has been 2 months since my last blog...what is wrong with me. I feel that I get into a good groove, and then all of a sudden, I forget to update and just enjoy keeping up with my friends! So anyways, things that I have done the last couple of months: finished up my high school volleyball season (we made it to the second round of playoffs and lost to the defending state champs) started the club season, enjoyed many days and meals with families and friends, decorated my house for Christmas...which I love! (pictures to come soon) had a wonderful Thanksgiving X 2. (One with David's family, and the other with mine) Watched countless hours of football, read the Twilight series, visited about three wineries; my new obsession. Visited my grandparents in Kerrville Texas. Hung out with my wonderful husband doing nothing. And probably much more than I can think of right now. Just wanted to say that sorry for those of you that read my blog that I have no pictures of my adorable neice, and will do a much better job posting from here on out. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

2 Year Anniversary of our Engagement

So yesterday, David and I went to the state fair with my parents to celebrate the 2 year anniversary of the day we were engaged. I can remember that day like it was yesterday, on top of the Ferris Wheel and David down on one knee! I couldn't believe it and now we are going on two years?! Crazy.

We had so much fun this year, because we all really wanted to go and just relax, walk, eat and see everything. The past two years have been wonderful, but we have always had a second agenda to keep up with like the engagement, and last year the Lion King muscial, so this year was all about the fair.

We arrived at around 2:30, and walked each entire showroom, ate one of everything; literally we had popcorn, corny dogs, pizza, fried oreos, fried cookie dough (my favorite), an onion blossom, funnel cake, french fries and fresh squeezed lemonade. Luckily we all split everything between the four of us, but talk about some calories!!! Then we sat in the wine garden for a little bit to catch our breath, and get rejuvinated before heading to the pig show which is to cute.

But the most memorable moment was on top of the Ferris Wheel where the proposal happened. We decided to ride it when it got dark because we have never done that before, and what makes this so romantic to me, is that my sweet husband is afraid of heights, but knows how much I love the Ferris Wheel and rides it with me everytime. It was so beautiful at night and we definitely had to take our annual picture at the top to remember our most favorite spot in the world! It was such a fun night. Thanks mom and dad for going with us, and making our day so special. Can't wait for next year!
Happy Two Year Anniversary of Being Engaged Honey!

Decatur Eagle Volleyball

So if you were wondering where I have been for like the last 3 months, volleyball has taken over my world. I am the Varsity Coach for the Decatur Eagle Volleyball team, and have been in season since July starting with team camp! We are doing very well so far this year and just started district last week. Tonight we play our rival; Bridgeport, and it should be a fun exciting match. Just wanted to update you and show some pictures of the girls that I spend everyday with. Basically I have 17 children on Varsity; 15 players and 2 managers. They are such sweet girls and I feel that I have adopted them all. Wish us luck tonight and I will keep you updated on the big game!

Ready for Some Football?!

Are you ready for the big game tonight? David and I are super excited to cheer on America's Team to 3-0 (hopefully) We usually go to my folks house, but living an hour away poses a little problem when I have to get up at 4:00 am tomorrow morning! Anyways, we are finishing up our chores, feeding the horses, cleaning stalls, doing laundry and I am finishing up grading papers so we will be in full football mode when 7:15 roles around. What more can I ask for on a Sunday night besides being with my hubby, eating tacos, and cheering on our favorite team! GO COWBOYS!
How can you not love this game?

SHES ON HER WAY

So, in an earlier blog, I mentioned that my sister is pregnant with the first baby in the family, and she is coming either today or early tomorrow! I was stuck in Nocona at a volleyball tournament and freaked out when she called that her water broke. So with much anticipated waiting for the the tournament to come to an end, I hurried home, got myself packed, grabbed my dog and David and I were on our way to Arlington to be here for the birth of my neice Olivia! So here I am, sitting in the hospital lobby anxiously awaiting Olivia's arrival! I will keep you posted!
